Psychrometric Constant

A coefficient (gamma) relating water-vapour partial pressure to air temperature, used to weight the energy and aerodynamic terms in the Penman and Penman-Monteith equations.

The psychrometric constant depends mainly on atmospheric pressure, so it changes with altitude — one of the ways elevation enters an evaporation calculation.
