Extraterrestrial Radiation

The solar radiation arriving at the top of the atmosphere, determined purely by latitude and day of year. It is the radiation input used by temperature-only methods such as Hargreaves-Samani.

Because it depends only on geometry, extraterrestrial radiation is read from standard tables rather than measured. Hargreaves-Samani uses it as a proxy for the measured radiation it lacks.
