Latent-Heat Flux
The energy carried away from a surface as water evaporates — evaporation expressed in energy units. Dividing it by the latent heat of vaporisation converts it to a depth of water lost.
Latent-heat flux is the evaporation term in the surface energy budget. The energy-budget method finds it as whatever available energy remains after radiation, sensible heat and stored heat are accounted for.
