Sensible-Heat Flux

The transfer of heat between a surface and the air driven by their temperature difference — energy that warms the air rather than evaporating water. In the energy budget it competes with the latent-heat term for available energy.

When more available energy goes into sensible heat, less is left for evaporation. The split between sensible and latent heat is captured by the Bowen ratio.
